Sunday Evening Praise
Hosted by Buddy Smith
Sunday mornings on AFR offer a musical format with traditional blends designed to prepare the worshiper for the Lord's day. Sunday evenings, in contrast, are designed as an uninterrupted and more contemporary praise-only format that provides the worshiper with an opportunity of joining with the musicians in offering thanksgiving to God.
Sunday Evening Praise airs from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. CDT.
The worship leader for Sunday Evening Praise is Rev. Buddy Smith. Buddy was AFR's Sunday morning host when Don Wildmon approached him in 1993 about the concept of a Sunday evening praise program.
According to Buddy, "Dr. Wildmon told me there was a need for AFR to offer an uninterrupted time of praise and worship music to assist believers all across the country in this important discipline of the Christian life. Dr. Wildmon asked if I would host the program and I enthusiastically accepted. I know that our music library included the very best of today's worship and praise music and counted it an honor to have the opportunity of designing a mix of musical styles that could be used by the Holy Spirit to stir the hearts of our listeners."
Many different musical artists make up the musical mix of Sunday Evening Praise. A typical Sunday evening will include songs by: Christ Church Choir, Bill & Gloria Gaither & Friends Homecoming Series, Integrity Singers, Maranatha Singers, Hosanna Singers, Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, and Vineyard Singers.
