My wife Caroline and I have lived in Tupelo since our marriage in 1991. We have one son, Matthew. We are members of Harrisburg Baptist Church in Tupelo.

The majority of my adult life has been spent working in broadcasting. Since 1980, I have worked in radio - both in news and programming. While I have spent most of my radio career programming music stations, with the exception of Memphis, Tennessee, my career has been in Mississippi.

It is a real honor to be a part of the news staff here at AFR. We are allowed the unique opportunity of presenting the listener with the latest news without the liberal bias that is so prevalent today. AFR news is presented objectively, but from a Christian perspective. That perspective allows AFR news to deliver many stories that "secular" outlets would never air. In fact, we consider it our "mission" to make sure that our listeners are informed on the issues that matter to Christians.

Some of my favorite leisure activities are playing golf, fishing, reading, traveling and photographing the two-lane back roads...away from the interstates. I especially enjoy traveling and reading about old Route 66. I also love reading and studying American Civil War history. I have visited many battlefield sites.

Most of all, I enjoy every minute I get to spend with my wife and son...and with my two dogs, Pickett and Liberty.

I enjoy the poetry of Robert Frost. My favorite food is anything, because I love to eat, and I like surprises!

My favorite scriptures are:

Matthew 6:34- Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

James 1:22- Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Psalms 118:24- This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

And my favorite quote: "It isn’t the burdens of today that drive men mad. It is the regrets over yesterday and the fear of tomorrow. Regret and fear are twin thieves who rob us of today."  Robert Hastings
